There's no hard level requirement, level 5 is fine for the start of act 2. But if you want more xp there's the underdark, grymforge and the githyanki creche in the mountains. You can also just kill everything for the extra experience. I cleared out the goblin camp even though I had already killed the leaders, which did give a decent amount.
